Knowledge Prism
Refund and Cancellation Policy
This page explains how donors can request refund review or monthly pledge cancellation support.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Knowledge Prism values every contribution and aims to handle donation-related concerns with clarity and fairness. Because donations support social-impact programs and may be subject to accounting, statutory, and payment gateway processes, refunds and cancellations are reviewed carefully.
One-time donations
One-time donations made through the website are generally considered final once successfully processed by the payment gateway. However, Knowledge Prism may review a refund request in limited situations such as duplicate payment, incorrect amount entered by mistake, unauthorized transaction, technical error, or payment gateway confirmation of fraud or reversal.
To request review, email us as soon as possible at info@knowledgeprism.org with donor name, email or phone used during payment, donation amount, date, Razorpay payment ID, order ID if available, and a short explanation of the issue.
Review timeline
We aim to acknowledge refund requests within a reasonable time after receiving complete information. The final decision may depend on payment gateway status, bank settlement status, fraud review, accounting records, statutory obligations, whether a receipt or tax document has already been issued, and whether funds have already been allocated or used for program purposes.
Refund method and charges
If a refund is approved, it will normally be processed back to the original payment method through the payment gateway or banking channel. Refund timing may depend on Razorpay, banks, card networks, UPI systems, and settlement cycles. Any gateway charges, bank fees, taxes, or deductions may be handled according to the payment provider's process and applicable law.
Receipts and 10A/80G documents
If a donation is refunded, any receipt, acknowledgement, 10A/80G support document, or tax-related claim linked to that donation may become invalid or may need correction. Donors should not claim tax benefit for a refunded donation. If a document has already been issued, Knowledge Prism may ask for additional information or issue a corrected record where applicable.
Monthly pledge cancellation
Monthly pledges can be cancelled by emailing info@knowledgeprism.org with donor name, registered email or phone, subscription reference if available, and the cancellation request. We will check the Razorpay subscription record and confirm the status after cancellation is processed.
Cancellation stops future scheduled charges after the cancellation is completed. It may not automatically refund donations already processed before the cancellation request was received or before the gateway completed cancellation. If a charge was processed in error, it can be reviewed under the one-time donation refund review process above.
Failed, pending, or disputed payments
If a payment is shown as failed, pending, or debited but not confirmed, donors should first check the final status with their bank or payment app. In many cases, payment gateways or banks automatically reverse failed transactions. Knowledge Prism can help verify whether a donation record was created once the donor shares the payment reference.
Fraud and unauthorized transactions
If you believe a donation was made without authorization, notify your bank or payment provider immediately and email Knowledge Prism with the available transaction details. We may cooperate with the payment gateway, bank, or lawful authority to review and respond to fraud-related claims.
